Oral Presentation Preparation Information

This page provides information for people who are making oral presentations at the 2018 Annual Merit Review and Peer Evaluation Meeting (AMR).

Creating Your Presentation

Oral presenters will be allotted 30 minutes total—20 minutes for the prepared presentation followed by 10 minutes for questions and answers. Time limits will be strictly enforced.

Do not include any information that is proprietary or confidential in your presentation. Make sure any material used from subcontractors and project partners meets this criterion. If copyrighted material is included, it must be used with permission and attributed properly. Please submit the written copyright permission along with the presentation. Presentations will be posted on the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program website a few weeks after the review and linked from the past meetings page.

Preparation Instructions

Create your presentation in PowerPoint using the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program oral presentation instructions:

Reminder: please name your oral presentation file using the name provided to you in your original notification email:
(proj#)_(PI last name)_2018_o.

Your PowerPoint file will be used for presentation at the AMR. Videos must be embedded in your PowerPoint file for purposes of presentation. A second version without videos must be submitted for the purpose of making the PDF file.

All presentations will be converted to PDF file format, made available on electronic media at the meeting, and posted on the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program website after the meeting. PowerPoint animation and slide transition effects will not be included in the PDF files. Videos will not be included in the PDF versions.

Submitting Your Presentation

Submit your presentation by April 17, 2018. The lead time is needed so that electronic media containing all of the presentations can be prepared and made available at the meeting, so that reviewers will have sufficient time to review your presentation prior to the meeting, and for preparation of your presentation for display/projection.

Submit your presentation by accessing the online presentation submission system and providing the requested information for your presentation.

If your presentation is too large to submit, request an alternative delivery option by sending an email to ORAU at H2AMR@orau.org.

Please note that updated presentations will not be accepted on-site at the AMR. Project achievements made after the April 17, 2018, submission deadline may be presented verbally.

Schedule Overview

Presenters will be notified via email with the times and dates of their presentations. In addition, the agenda page provides the time and date for each presentation.

At the Review Meeting

All oral presentations will be preloaded on laptops in each session room. Personal laptops and/or updated presentations will not be allowed at the time of presentation. Session moderators and AV technicians will be on-site to assist speakers and to enforce presentation timing. Speaker Ready Stations will be available during the AMR for testing and presentation review. The location and hours for the Speaker Ready Stations will be provided to you as the meeting approaches.

After the Review Meeting

All the presentations will be posted on the Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Program website a few weeks following the AMR. A report containing the results of the project reviews will be published on the website approximately three to four months following the AMR. When the presentations and report are available, they will be advertised on the website.
